The Forerunner
A forerunner is someone from the past who precedes someone today,paving the way for the person and making new things possible.He is also a messenger sent ahead to announce the coming of someone that follows.
For example, John the Baptist was a forerunner of Jesus Christ:
” John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say, Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way before you.”-Luke 7:27
Let’s see how John the Baptist helped Jesus to prepare the ground for His ministry:
“All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, BECAUSE THEY HAD BEEN BAPTISED BY JOHN.
But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves,BECAUSE THEY HAD NOT BEEN BAPTIZED BY JOHN”-Luke 7: 29-30
If God had to send John ahead of His Son to prepare the ground then the sons of God today cannot afford to run the race of life without a forerunner.
Every destiny that is fulfilled today encountered a destiny helper at one point or the other in the past.
One of the reasons you think Mr A gets some things done faster than you do might be that someone had actually gone ahead of him/her to pave the way.
Many are able to finish tertiary education because someone had gone ahead of them to toil under rain and sun to provide money and support.Without that person,they might have been the ones to sponsor themselves!
Many today are moving along in life at snail’s speed because there is either no forerunner/helper around them or they are yet to locate theirs.
Before you start looking here and there for a forerunner,I want to introduce you to number One destiny helper :Jesus!!!
John was a forerunner for Jesus,Jesus in turn goes ahead of us to be our forerunner:
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, WHERE OUR FORERUNNER,JESUS, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek”-Heb 6:19-20

“I will go before you and will level the mountains ;
I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron”-Isa 45:2
Apart from Christ,God can command His angels and even men to help us if the need arises:
“Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation”-Heb 1:14
“The LORD controls the mind of a king as easily as he directs the course of a stream”-Prov 21:1
“A king’s heart is like streams of water in the LORD’s hand:He directs it wherever He chooses”(HCSB)
All you need is to allow Jesus to lead.Let the Son of God take the wheel of your life.
