Holy Spirit: The seal and the earnest of our inheritance (2)
Three scriptural verses support the truth that the Holy Spirit is the seal of God upon the believers:
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit”-Ephe 1:13
“Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come”-2Cor 1:21-22
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption”-Ephe 4:30
What are the implications of being sealed with the Holy Spirit?
1)You are separated and set apart for God:There may be billions of people in the world but God knows those who are His. How? He recognizes them with the seal of the Holy Spirit on them which distinguishes and marks them as belonging to him.It then means you are no longer your own! You are God’s property now!
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body”-1Cor 6:19-20
You have been chosen, marked, separated, distinguished…You are now God’s own! Halleluyah.
What are the benefits of being God’s own:
a)He forgives your sins:
“I am writing to you who are God’s children because your sins have been forgiven through Jesus”-1John 2:12
b)You become God’s heir:This is wonderful…I mean you are an heir of God!!! Whatever God possesses from the foundation of the world till now both in heaven and Earth is your inheritance…
“Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir”-Galatians 4:7
“I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people”-Ephesians 1:18
“My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus”-Philippians 4:19
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory…”-Romans 8:14-17a
“God has reserved a priceless inheritance for his children. It is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay” -1 Peter 1:4
These two benefits alone settle your past,present and give a hope for the future.
Let me continue with the implications of being sealed with the Holy Spirit:
2)His seal guarantees your security: In the previous edition(Part 1),we saw the implications of the seal of Kings on both the den of lion where Daniel was kept and the tomb of Christ.The seal secured both locations against any intruder.
In the same vein,whoever has the seal of the Holy Spirit is secured.No power of hell can gain access to you.
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty…For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection”-Psalm 91:1,3-4
“But the Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one”-2Thess 3:3
“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me“-John 10:28
I love this last Scripture…No death,no sickness,no hell,no disaster,no height,no depth,no angel,no demon, no power, no deadly disease,no poverty,no riches…can snatch you away from Christ because you have on your body the seal of the Holy Spirit.Hallelujah
With all due respect to all those concerned…there are some prayer points that you are not supposed to raise if you live in this reality.Prayers like: ‘God,I want to sleep,come and protect me’, ‘God,let sickness be far from me’, ‘God,come and kill my enemies’ etc…
One,If you are God’s child,it is His responsibility to protect you! To achieve this,he surrounds you with His angels.
“For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways”-Psalm 91:11
Two,He says:
“And no resident will say, “I am sick”; The people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity-Isa 33:24
Therefore,I will rather affirm my sound health than concentrate on the symptoms!
Lastly,Daniel didn’t pronounce death on those who put him in the lion’s den,the King did.Jesus didn’t pronounce the death of Judas,he killed himself…Delight yourself in the Lord brother,move closer to God sister and serve Him with all your might,leave those “enemies” for God! Focus on God,don’t be distracted by the lies of the wicked ones.The devil only went with one-third of the angels in heaven.God still has two-thirds with Him.Focus on God and His might.He is in the majority.Don’t be like the servant of Elisha who was seeing the Syrian army but oblivious of the array of angels surrounding him and Elisha.
You are God’s children therefore you are surrounded by His angels,you are in Christ and Christ is in you.You are also sealed with the Holy Spirit…
Who is that person that wants to break through this tight security to snatch you?I mean,can you tell me the person that will kill God and His angels,remove the seal of the Holy Spirit from you, handcuff Christ and then snatch you from him? That person is non-existent!
This is what the devil doesn’t want you to know and now that you know,live in the reality of all the verses quoted above or else the devil 😈 will take advantage of you!He loves people who take God’s word for granted but if you believe in the words of God you have read today there shall be a fulfilment of every word in your life:
“Blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord”-Luke 1:45
