Wisdom vs Understanding(1)

Have you ever felt you couldn’t contribute to a serious discussion because of your age, status, education or pedigree before?

Have you ever kept mute on a topic you know very well because you are young?

You won’t be the first to feel that way…

Elihu felt the same in the Bible.

He was the youngest of the friends of Job.So while others were giving their opinions on Job’s predicament,he kept quiet.

Finally,in Job 32,he gave reason for his unusual reticence:

“So Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, answered and said: “I am young in years, and you are very old; therefore I was afraid, and dared not declare my opinion to you.” vs 6

When Elihu compared himself with the other three friends of Job,he judged himself too young to offer his opinion.

Was his judgement right?
