Wisdom vs Understanding (2)

One would have thought Wisdom should only be in the mouths of the aged or the well-educated ones, unfortunately,it is not.

Therefore,Elihu was initially wrong to think he couldn’t speak Wisdom to people older than him.Wisdom has no respect for age!

In Wisdom, all men are in the same level. There is no old or young in wisdom.A 1-day old can communicate wisdom that a 90- year old can learn from.If the latter wants to be wise,he dare not look down on the former.

However,in Understanding, all men are not equal. At every point in time,Understanding differs according to age, gender, education, exposure, experience, surrender to the Spirit etc

Elihu realized that when he summoned courage to speak Wisdom despite his initial quietness:

“So Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, answered and said: “I am young in years, and you are very old;therefore I was afraid, And dared not declare my opinion to you.I said, ‘Age should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.’But there is a spirit in man,and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.”-Job 32:6-8

Elihu continued:

“Great men are not always wise; neither do the aged understand judgment.“Therefore I say, ‘Listen to me, I also will declare my opinion.’vs 9-10
