“In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.”
-Dan 9:2

What you are about to read is a result of insightful and thorough study of God’s word by me through the help of the Holy Spirit.
It was not given via vision/dream!

Nigeria is going through a lot and it is hightime we knew where we are in the prophetic timeline.

Are we wandering(purposeless endeavor) or embarking on a journey(purposeful) to a destination.

God impressed on my mind the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and journey to the promised land to explain where Nigeria is at present:
NIGERIA IS AT A SPIRITUAL KADESH!

MAJOR LANDMARKS IN ISRAEL JOURNEY
1)FROM EGYPT TO MOUNT SINAI/HOREB
2)FROM MOUNT SINAI/HOREB TO KADESH
3)FROM KADESH TO KADESH
4)FROM KADESH TO CANAAN

1)FROM EGYPT TO MOUNT SINAI/HOREB
“And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.”-Exodus 12:41
Israel got her independence from Egypt and marched towards Mount Sinai. However many mighty things happened on their way that generations later would praise God for: Crossing the Red sea, free food from heaven(manna, quails) etc.
Nigeria got her independence from British government on Oct 1st 1960.
In the First republic, many ground breaking achievements were made.Till today, many still fantasize the regional achievements recorded in those years.

2)FROM MOUNT SINAI/HOREB TO KADESH
At mount Sinai God gave them His commandments,do’s and dont’s in the community. There was however a delay in their progress around Mount Sinai/Horeb. God eventually spoke:
” The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mount .Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites…” -Deut 1:6-7
Study the events between the First and Second Republics in Nigeria to have deeper insights into this. The First Republic was terminated by bloodshed and coup. The military intervened! That was the beginning of delay in Nigeria progress.
Israelites eventually journeyed to Kadesh.
Then, as the LORD our God commanded us, we set out from Horeb and went toward the hill country of the Amorites through all that vast and dreadful wilderness that you have seen, and so we reached Kadesh Barnea-Deut 1:19
The elders reading this post will attest to the fact that Nigeria’s experience during the first and second republics can be described as ‘dreadful’.

3)FROM KADESH TO KADESH
Israel was now very close to the promised land.Canaan was 40-day journey to Kadesh!
Moses sent spies to go and explore Canaan from Kadesh:
“At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land. They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh…”-Numbers 13:25-26
At Kadesh,Moses sent spies to Canaan but 10 of the 12 spies  brought bad report: THE PROMISED LAND IS OCCUPIED!
God said:
“In this wilderness your bodies will fall–every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me.”
” Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. As for your children that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected “-Numbers 14:29,31
God “ANNULLED” his initial covenant with them! The youthful generation that were less than 20 were the ones to enter the promised land.
God’s pronouncement made two distinctions among the Israelites:Those that would die in the wilderness and those that would enter the Promised land.

Pause a bit…Did you just read “annulment”?
Welcome to the 3rd Republic in Nigeria that nosedived into the 1993 general elections annulment!
The annulment though evil has a spiritual significance.
It puts Nigeria into two major generations:
a)The fearful generation
b)The faith generation

“For forty years–one year for each of the forty days you explored the land–you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.'”-Numbers 14:34
So far Isreal had been on a JOURNEY to Canaan.
But now,the journey would become a WANDERING!

“Then we turned back and set out toward the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea, as the
LORD had directed me. For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir.”- Deut 2:1
To make his pronouncement to be fulfilled,God made Israel to turn back and start moving towards where they were coming from:TheRed sea!
They started moving in circle round Mount Seir.
They eventually ended up after 40 years in…Guess where?…Kadesh! From Kadesh to Kadesh!
They wandered in circles for 40years.

Lessons to Nigeria:
1)We were once at Kadesh but we missed it because we didnt know our time of visitation.
2)1993 was not very far from the destination we dreamt.Just like Cannan was just 40 days journey from Kadesh, the same way,Nigeria was not far from her destination then.
3)Fear of the unknown and the fact that the promised land was found to be occupied cost Nigeria.
Nigeria felt she didnt have what it took to enter into her promised land

It took Israel 40 years to come back to Kadesh again. How many years will it take Nigeria to come back to her spiritual Kadesh?
The answer is in the year of her independence:
60 years post independence, which makes it year 2020.

What is the significance of year 2020 for Nigeria?
What happened when Israelites got to Kadesh the second time?
Did they make the same mistake like what happened to them 40 years ago?
Will Nigeria get it right in the second time at Kadesh?
What happened in the journey between Kadesh and the Promised land?
Who are the fearful and faith generations?
These and many questions will be answered in the next post.
Stay blessed.
