RHEMA BLOG BIBLE CLUB-PHASE 1
Hello,it is good to be here today.I want you to watch out for the continuation of the series on King David’s scandal and cover up.Part 3 will soon hit the internet.
God dropped something in my mind that I want to share with those that want to grow in their knowledge of God’s word.
It is about RHEMA BLOG BIBLE CLUB(RBBC) which starts today online in Jesus’ name and it will be majorly devoted to Bible memorization.I have noticed that many Christians depend more on google search these days to remind them of Bible verses. The two verses many Christians today can quote are probably Psalm 23:1 and John 3:16!
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE PART OF THIS CLUB
1)You need a version of the Bible that uses modern English.I personally use NIV for memorization purpose.
2)You need to get a marker or pen to highlight the verses I will be sharing on this platform.Highlighting your Bible makes the verses stick more in your memory and you find it easier to search for the verses when you need them.
3)You need to devote at least 10minutes every day to memorise and review the ones you learnt the previous day.
We are doing this not because you want to be a Pastor! I don’t Pastor a church as well.We are doing this because as Christians the words of God are our guide and we need to put them to memory so that we can recall them when the need arises. Okay?
We will only be memorizing selected quotable verses that are in each book of the Bible. You will realise each book of the Bible contains some popular verses that are easy to memorise and call forth when you need them.We shall focus on those verses.
Let’s start with the Pentateuch, the first 5 books of the Bible:
There are just 35 verses to put to memory in those five books! Aren’t you happy? Just 35? Yeah…
If you put these into memory, you can always paraphrase others like the stories of Creation,Abraham, Jacob etc. Do you get my point? Okay!
Gen 1:1-“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Gen1:3- “And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light”
Gen 15:6- “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness”
Gen 26:12-“Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him.”
That is all for Genesis! I know there are still more interesting verses there, but don’t you think it is better to learn them in bits than not learning them at all because they are too many?
Let’s add six more verses from Exodus and we shall be calling it a day:
Exodus 14:13- “…Do not be afraid.Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.”
Exodus 15:3- “The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name.”
Exodus 15:11- “Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you—majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?”
Exodus 15:26b- “… if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
Exodus 23:8- “Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.”
Exodus 23:25-“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you”
That is all for today.Try and memorise them, then ruminate over them and let God give you a message from each verse. When God shines His light upon the verses, they stick in your memory better.
To differentiate this from the usual blog posts,I will always use Rhema Blog Bible Club as the title of future posts.
If you have memorised these and you want me to move to the next verses let me know.In this way ,the word of the Lord will spread widely and grow in power and the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
Stay blessed.
