How Australian sailing team won 1983 America’s cup

Mark Batterson in his book,The Grave Robber ,gave the background story to how the Australian team won the America’s cup in 1983.

Batterson says the Australian sailing team was able to win the 1983 America’s Cup because they rehearsed winning for three years in their mind.

Think about this…3 years!

The coach made an audiotape where he narrated the race, complete with a sailboat cutting through water, and ending with his team winning.

He made this recording three years before the actual race.

He asked his team to listen to it twice a day ,everyday, for three years.

When the coach and his team finally reached the point in reality where the event was no longer imagined but actually happening ,they had already perceived themselves as winning 2,190 times!

And they won.

For as a man thinks within himself, so he is.
