“And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD.”-Gen 25:22
What is the meaning of the expression ‘if it be so,why am I thus?’
This question was asked sequel to vs 21:
“Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.”
In other words,
If it be that I became pregnant after God answered my husband’s prayer,why am I experiencing these struggles within me?
If I be a mother in answer to prayer,why am I thus?
If my pregnancy was conceived on the altar of prayers,why all these struggles by the babies?
Hmmmmmm.
Whatever gift you get from God can easily be taken back to Him if any challenge surfaces.
If I be a husband in answer to prayers…
If I be a wife in answer to prayers…
If I be a mother/father in answers to prayers…
If I be a child in answer to prayers…
If it be so that my job was given to me by God…
If it be so…Why am I thus?
