1)New idea:Elisha sent a messenger to say to him, “Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.”

2)Naaman’s expectation:But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the LORD his God and heal me!”

3)Conscious closure of his mind:Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.

4)Deletion of a negative program from his subconscious mind:But his officers tried to reason with him and said, “Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, ‘Go and wash and be cured!'”

5)Acceptance of the new idea into his subconscious mind:So Naaman went down to the Jordan River and dipped himself seven times, as the man of God had instructed him. And his skin became as healthy as the skin of a young child, and he was healed!

Be careful with certain ‘expectations’.They may be the major stumbling blocks to your progress.

Naaman only needed to receive the new idea from the man of God and enter into the miraculous stage, but he had to go through the 5 stages listed above.

Please note that his story is written for our edification :

“Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.”-James 1:21
