The story of Joseph in Potiphar’s house is always seen from Joseph’s perspective.

I will like to see it from Potiphar’s…

Who was Potiphar?

He was Pharaoh’s officer:

“Meanwhile, the Midianite traders arrived in Egypt, where they sold Joseph to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Potiphar was captain of the palace guard.”

The word “officer” in Hebrew is “cariyc” meaning a eunuch,a chamberlain.

A eunuch is one that has been castrated! Kings in those days had many wives so they required that any man that would work in the palace must be a eunuch so that there wouldn’t be any affairs between the man and their wives.

However, many eunuchs(like Potiphar) had wives and even harems where they kept many women, but they bore no children.

Could this explain why Potiphar’s wife was interested in Joseph?
