Courage in leadership (2)

Who says a leader cannot err in his decision making?

A father can make pronouncements that are later found to me misleading…

The CEO can lead the company into financial crisis through his decisions…

A Pastor can say something that leads his followers to make wrong choices…

The President of a nation is not left out when it comes to errors in decision making…

After all,it is said that “to err is human…”

However,a courageous leader is one who after making mistakes and leading his followers in the wrong direction can accept responsibility for his mistakes.

What does that mean?

If you told your child that he shouldn’t do something and you later found out you were wrong,be courageous enough to tell him you were wrong and be ready to accept the consequences of such mistakes.

Abraham Lincoln told Grant: “I feared it was a mistake,I now wish to make the personal acknowledgement that you were right, and I was wrong.

That is what a courageous leadership is all about.
