What is a goad?

It is an instrument shaped like a prod.It is fitted with a sharp metal/nail at its end.It is used by shepherd on animals for making them go where he wants them to.

So,the shepherd via the goad provides leadership and punishment when the need arises.

If he wants them to go towards the direction of the still water,he uses the goad to guide them there.

Sometimes,he senses evil around them.Therefore,he nudges them to move out of the area immediately.But some of the animals may not want to move.

Such times,the shepherd goes hard on the errant animals.

He hits them with his goad…Ouch!!!

Bear it in mind that the goad is fitted with a sharp object!
